Basically (not literally), fandom has exploded after LiveJournal took down several communities and journals due to their interests listing things like incest, rape, and other objectionable content. Recent metafandom editions have lots of links, and this is a pretty extensive roundup.
There are also lots of posts about it on comics-related fan fiction communities or fic-writing journals -- too many to list, actually. I mean, heck, even Warren Ellis blogged about it...
Just make sure to check the comms you're a member of, but don't have on your reading list.
